One patron, Gold Coast mother-of-three Anita, voiced her frustrations after staff prevented her from bringing personal snacks during a school holiday visit to Wild Robot. Despite previously purchasing cinema snacks and carrying a water bottle without issues, her bag, containing dietary-specific treats for her children, was flagged. Left with limited options, Anita found herself either surrendering her bag or being refused entry without a refund—an experience that numerous reviewers echoed online.
Nonna Margaret, 75, also expressed dismay when her grandchildren’s sweets were confiscated during Easter holidays, vowing not to return. Another customer, under the alias K Raw, recounted a similar incident, highlighting feelings of coercion to purchase expensive cinema treats after staff discovered personal items.
