Netflix Raises Prices for Aussie Users

May 21, 2024 11:15 am in by

Australian Netflix subscribers are in for a pocket pinch as the streaming service rolls out price hikes across its subscription tiers. Premium plans now stand at $25.99, up from $22.99, while standard plans without ads have increased from $16.99 to $18.99. Those opting for standard plans with ads will see a bump from $6.99 to $7.99.

Despite the updated pricing on Netflix’s website, some users remain unaware of the changes coming. A Netflix spokesperson, addressing the increase, highlighted the platform’s commitment to providing value to its members, and the need for occasional adjustments in subscription costs to reflect added benefits.

Netflix plans to inform Australian users about the price adjustments 30 days before they take effect, aligning with each user’s billing cycle. This move follows the removal of the basic ad-free plan last October, signalling the platform’s strategic shift towards enhancing its offerings and adapting to evolving viewer preferences. Subscribers can anticipate these changes as Netflix continues to refine its pricing structure in response to shifting market dynamics.
