Riverland based Shadow Minister for primary industries Nicola Centofanti has not held back criticisms of the State Government, after it was revealed they did not make a submission to a recent wine industry inquiry.

Documents online via the enquiry’s website shows the Primary Industries Minister, nor department made a submission to the ‘Australian winegrape purchases code of conduct’ inquiry, which held a hearing in Renmark last year.

Riverland based shadow minister, Nicola Centofanti says this again shows the lack of engagement by the Minister and the Government on this important issue and gives little confidence that the Minister is across her portfolio.

“It is revealing that with less than 1% of the contribution to national winegrape volume the Tasmanian government made a submission, but despite producing 50% of the nation’s bottled wine, it appears that our own state government did not.” Dr Centofanti said.
