After an over decade professional tennis career, the Riverland’s Luke Saville has bowed out of the sport at the Australian open.
Luke’s loss in the third round of the men’s doubles on Sunday would signal the end of the career that’s early days can be traced back to the courts of the Riverland.
Post-match Luke thanked his many supporters who had assisted his career in some way, which reached the lofty heights of representing Australia at the Davis Cup & Olympics.
Other highlights included two junior grand-slam wins at Wimbledon & the Australian Open, together with reaching the final of the men’s doubles in 2020.
It’s widely tipped the former Riverland local won’t be lost to the sport, with Luke saying late last year he’s still keen to be involved in Tennis.
