There could soon be a fresh new life for a former Riverland Primary School site.
The Winkie Primary School rang the bell for the final time in 2015, at the time having less than 10 students.
After then the site was sold to a private company in 2018, and was most recently used as accommodation for seasonal workers.

That company fell into administration in 2023, and while the business was able to trade on, the school site was placed on the market for sale in the latter part of 2024.
Despite the property being damaged, including a number of broken windows the site reportedly sold recently for $280,000 – well under the initial price guide when first on the market at $450,000.
It’s not known what the new owners may have planned for the site.
