Building approvals low

Fresh building approval data has showed local approvals are at very low levels.

Figures released this week looking at the month of April revealed just 2 approvals were made in the Renmark Paringa area, with just one recoded in the Loxton Waikerie region.

From July 2023 to now, Renmark-Paringa has the most amount of approvals at 32, with Loxton-Waikerie having 20.

Numbers for Berri Barmera were the lowest in the region, having just 12 approvals from July 2023 to now.

Nationally approvals were down again, something Chief Executive of Master Builders Australia, Denita Wawn says needs to be addressed, adding “The hurdles are clear to everyone, approval delays, tradie shortages, material cost inflation, out of touch industrial relations changes, inefficient regulation and more.
