The Most Orange-inal Marmalade

Orange marmalade 3
Renmark is set to host the Australian Marmalade Awards this year and locals with a flare for jams are encouraged to enter in one of two divisions - Home-Made or Artisian.

The Artisan Competition is open to all small commercial producers who make their marmalade by the ‘open pan’ method, the Home-Made is for hobbists and novices.

The Marmalade Festival will be held at Olivewood Homestead in the heart of the Riverland’s citrus country on the first Sunday of September. The event will feature tastings, presentations, cooking demonstrations, stalls and music.

At the inaugural Australian Marmalade Awards in 2016, the winning home-made entry was a ‘Pina colada’ marmalade and the winning artisan entry an ‘Orange and Whisky’ combination. Entries for the 2017 competition close August 21st.
