Man assaulted in car in Sydney's southwest

A man has a broken nose and suspected facial fractures after three men got into his car in Sydney's southwest and began punching him.

Police say the 47-year-old victim was in his parked car at Punchbowl at about 4.45pm on Saturday when the three unknown men began assaulting him.

The assaults continued onto the road where the man managed to break free and run to a nearby licensed premises for help.

The three offenders, aged in their 20s, fled on foot with the man's mobile phone and car keys.

The injured man was taken to Bankstown Hospital for treatment. .
